Snoring Causes
Listening to someone snore can be funny at times, but if
they do it all the time it can start to interrupt your sleep.
Many individuals that sleep alone have no idea that they snore
so much. This can interrupt their ability to sleep though.
Individuals with chronic snoring problems often find they just
don't get enough rest even though they are attempting to lie
down for enough hours each night. Chronic snoring prevents the
body from being able to drift into a deep sleep.
The process of snoring is due to the air not flowing through
the mouth and the nose like it should at the back of the
throat. This results in the soft palate and the uvula touching
each other. As they vibrate it results in a snoring sound. The
stronger the vibration the deeper the sound will be. The louder
the sound the more seriously the airways are being
obstructed.
Snoring can be something that is the result of a person
being physically and mentally exhausted. Many individuals start
to experience it when they have started a new job, had a new
baby, or some other change in their life that makes it harder
on them to get through the day or to sleep without
interruptions.
Snoring that occurs suddenly and then gets worse can be a
sign of a medical issue. The tonsils or the adenoids may have
swollen up. There may be a cyst or a tumour that has developed
and is blocking the air as well. Individuals that have gained a
great deal of weight may develop snoring habits as well. With
proper diet and exercise they can lose weight and they will
often find the snoring goes away.
The common cold and a sinus infection can also create
snoring as well. Some individuals feel very tired when they
have these types of ailments, and snoring is the reason why
they aren't resting as they should. Some individuals that
suffer from seasonal allergies or that have asthma may snore
from time to time as well.
If you aren't able to determine the source of your snoring
on your own or remedy it, you should schedule an appointment
with a specialist. They can run a series of tests so that you
will be able to get to the root of your problem. Snoring causes
many problems to your health that you may not be aware of, so a
specialist can pinpoint these for you.
